Safety Warnings

Last updated 03/08/2026

Your safety is our highest priority. Please read and follow these safety guidelines before every ride.

1. Ride at Your Own Risk

Cycling involves inherent risks, including the risk of serious injury or death. By using a BluBike, you acknowledge these risks and agree to ride responsibly at all times.

2. Do Not Ride with Earphones or Headphones

For your safety, do not wear earphones, headphones, or any audio device in both ears while riding a BluBike. You must remain fully aware of your surroundings and be able to hear approaching vehicles, pedestrians, emergency sirens, and other road users.

3. Inspect the Bicycle Before Riding

Before every ride, check that:

  • the brakes are functioning properly;
  • the tyres appear properly inflated;
  • the handlebars are secure;
  • the battery has sufficient charge;
  • there is no visible damage to the bicycle.

If you notice any defect, do not use the bicycle. Report it immediately through the Blu app or customer support.

4. Ride Defensively

Always remain alert.

Watch for:

  • vehicles;
  • pedestrians;
  • motorcycles;
  • potholes;
  • wet surfaces;
  • construction areas;
  • animals;
  • unexpected road hazards.

Assume other road users may not see you.

5. Do Not Use Your Phone While Riding

Do not text, browse, watch videos, or operate your phone while the bicycle is in motion. If you need to use your phone, stop in a safe location first.

6. Do Not Perform Dangerous Stunts

Do not race, perform wheelies, jump curbs, ride on stairs, or attempt tricks. BluBikes are designed for safe transportation only.

7. Do Not Tamper with the Bicycle

Do not remove, disconnect, or interfere with the battery, GPS tracker, motor, lock, wiring, or any other component of the BluBike. Any tampering may result in account suspension and liability for repair or replacement costs.

8. Ride Only Where Permitted

Use BluBikes only in locations where cycling is permitted. Do not ride on prohibited roads, private property without permission, or in restricted areas.

9. Park Responsibly

Always end your ride at an authorised Blu parking location. Never leave a bicycle where it blocks roads, gates, entrances, footpaths, emergency exits, or access for other users.

10. Weather Conditions

Exercise extra caution during rain, strong winds, or poor visibility. Wet roads increase the risk of skidding and longer braking distances.

11. Report Accidents and Damage Immediately

If you are involved in an accident or notice any damage to a BluBike, stop using the bicycle and report the incident to Blu as soon as possible.

12. Emergency Situations

If there is an emergency involving serious injury or danger, contact the appropriate emergency services immediately before notifying Blu.

Important Notice

Failure to comply with these safety warnings may result in:

  • Immediate suspension or termination of your Blu account.
  • Additional charges for damage or misuse.
  • Financial liability for loss or damage caused to Blu property.
  • Legal action where applicable.

By unlocking and riding a BluBike, you confirm that you have read, understood, and agree to follow these Safety Warnings and Rider Notifications.
